Mentally ill young woman who lost her way from Solan reaches Panchkula; Police reunite her safely with family

Panchkula, December 29 (Ishan): Displaying sensitivity and prompt action, Panchkula Police safely reunited a mentally unwell young woman from Solan, Himachal Pradesh, with her family after she lost her way and reached Panchkula.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Srishti Gupta informed that on December 28, a 25-year-old woman left her home in Solan without informing her family due to mental health issues. Despite extensive search, the family could not trace her.

During routine patrolling, the Durga Shakti team noticed the young woman wandering aimlessly near Majri Chowk, Sector-1, Panchkula. She was immediately taken to Sector-1 Police Post for safety. As her mental condition appeared unstable, police collected details with compassion and attempted to identify her.

After establishing her identity, the police contacted her family. They confirmed she is undergoing treatment and had earlier gone missing as well. Completing all legal formalities, the police handed her over safely to her family at around 10 PM the same night.

The girl’s family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Panchkula Police, particularly the Durga Shakti team and Sector-1 Police Post In-charge Rammehar Singh, for their timely help and humanitarian approach.
