Haryana Government Bleeding People Through Taxes Instead of Giving Facilities – OP Sihag

Panchkula, January 18 (Ishan Samvad),In a meeting of senior leaders of the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) in Panchkula, strong resentment was expressed against the Haryana government for repeatedly imposing new taxes and increasing rates, thereby burdening the common people.

District President OP Sihag said that instead of providing better facilities, the government has increased electricity bills, water bills, property tax, sanitation tax, collector rates of land, and now has raised External Development Charges (EDC) by 10%, breaking the dreams of common people to own a house.

He said that according to the orders issued by the Town and Country Planning Department, the increased EDC has been implemented from January 1. Although the government claims that builders pay EDC, in reality, it is recovered directly from buyers. In Panchkula, the new EDC has become ₹39 lakh per acre for residential plotted colonies and ₹1.26 crore per acre for group housing societies.

Leaders including State Vice President KC Bhardwaj, Office Secretary Surinder Chadda, Halqa President Rajesh Nishad and Jorasinh Maderna said that the government should cut down its unnecessary expenses instead of imposing new taxes. Today farmers, labourers, youth and now the middle class are suffering badly due to inflation and government policies.
