Grand Welcome for Councilor Gurusevak Punia at City Heights Society

Peer Muchalla (Zirakpur), Ishan Rai. Newly elected Councilor of Ward 11, Zirakpur Municipal Council, Gurusevak Punia, was given a grand welcome by the Residents’ Welfare Association (RWA) at City Heights Society.

Society President Jitender Singh Kundu, former President Narendra Sethi, Treasurer Shankar Garg, and other office bearers welcomed him by presenting bouquets and offering sweets (Laddus). Senior journalist and society member, Sanjay Rai, honored Councilor Punia with a scarf (patka).

During the event, President Jitender Singh Kundu submitted a memorandum detailing the issues faced by the society and the surrounding area. Dr. Indra Rai, a resident of the society, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the urgent need to address concerns regarding street lighting and the menace of stray animals.

Councilor Gurusevak Punia assured the residents that he would take prompt action to resolve these issues and expressed his gratitude to all members for their support and votes. In response to the residents’ specific demand, he committed to installing 10 solar street lights using his personal discretionary fund.

The event was well-attended, with hundreds of society members present, and the community center was packed to capacity.
