Panchkula / 03 January (Ishan Samvad): To make crime control more effective and policing better, sensitive and smart in the year 2026, Panchkula Police has prepared a strong and clear strategy. In this connection, a marathon crime meeting of about four hours was held on Friday evening at the Conference Hall, District Secretariat, Sector-1, Panchkula, under the chairmanship of DCP Panchkula Srishti Gupta. All ACPs, SHOs and Police Post In-charges of the district attended the meeting. Important issues such as crime review, pending cases, crimes against women, technical empowerment and better public communication were discussed in detail.

During the meeting, DCP Srishti Gupta gave clear instructions to take strict and proactive action against crimes like theft, snatching and robbery. She said that no laxity will be tolerated in such cases. She also reviewed all pending cases and stressed speeding up investigations and improving their quality so that victims can get timely justice.
The DCP termed crimes against women as a very sensitive issue and directed officers to take more alert, prompt and effective action in such cases. She said that women’s safety is among the top priorities of Panchkula Police and every complaint must be taken seriously, ensuring a safe and trustworthy environment for the victim.

During the meeting, DCP Srishti Gupta also strictly instructed police personnel to adopt a humane approach. She said that whenever a citizen comes to a police station or post, the person is already in distress, and it is the responsibility of the police to treat the citizen’s problem as their own and help with sensitivity. To strengthen this spirit, emphasis was laid on effective implementation of the “Mera Thana, Meri Zimmedari” initiative, so that every police officer treats their police station area like their own family and ensures immediate response to any criminal incident.

Concrete steps are also being taken to make Panchkula Police more smart and technology-enabled in 2026. The DCP informed that police personnel will be given technology-based training, including training in AI-based apps, new software used in police functioning and modern technical tools. Special labs have been identified for this purpose and a complete training plan is being prepared.

DCP Srishti Gupta further informed that in the last phase of the previous year, QR codes were installed at all police offices, police stations, police posts, traffic posts and all major police contact points in Panchkula. Through these QR codes, citizens can directly access a feedback form on their mobile phones, where they can rate the quality of police services, behaviour of police personnel and effectiveness of problem resolution. This initiative is giving citizens an opportunity to share their experiences and is providing valuable feedback for continuous improvement in police services. At present, people are actively reviewing police services, making policing more transparent and accountable.
