Shocking Murder in Jaunpur: Son Kills Retired Railway Driver Parents, Dismembers Bodies

IshanSamvad Bureau | Jaunpur, In a gruesome crime that has shocked Uttar Pradesh’s Jaunpur district, a 37-year-old man has been arrested for brutally murdering his retired railway driver father and mother and disposing of their dismembered bodies in rivers. The incident took place in Ahmedpur village under the Jafrabad police station area.

The accused, identified as Ambesh Kumar, allegedly killed his mother Babita Devi (60) and father Shyamlal (62) on the night of December 8. Shyamlal was a retired loco pilot from the Indian Railways. After committing the murders, the accused cut the bodies into pieces and dumped them at different locations in the Sai and Gomti rivers, triggering panic and outrage in the region.

Weapons Used Recovered

According to ASP City Ayush Srivastava, the accused first attacked his mother and later murdered his father. Acting on the accused’s confession, police recovered a grinding stone (sil-batta) used in the assault and a saw used to cut the bodies. The accused revealed that the grinding stone was taken from the kitchen, while the saw was brought from a construction site in the basement of the house.

Money Dispute Led to Crime

Police investigations revealed that a heated argument over money took place between the father and son on the evening of December 8. The dispute escalated into a physical fight, following which the accused carried out the horrific act. Body parts were packed in plastic sacks and disposed of in rivers to destroy evidence.

Family Disputes and Marital Stress

Further investigation revealed that the accused had married a woman from Kolkata during the COVID-19 lockdown. Ongoing family disputes, pressure related to divorce, and financial demands reportedly added to the tension within the household.

The accused has been arrested, and police have launched a detailed investigation to determine if any other individuals were involved in the crime.
