New Delhi, 4 November 2025 (Naman): OpenAI has rolled out a free 12-month subscription of its ChatGPT Go plan for Indian users, opening access to advanced AI features including GPT‑5, image generation, enhanced file analysis, and custom GPT creation. The announcement, made on 4 November, marks a major push by OpenAI to expand its footprint in the rapidly growing Indian AI market.
Speaking about the launch, OpenAI India spokesperson said, “We are excited to bring ChatGPT Go to Indian users free for a year. This plan will enable students, developers, startups, and tech enthusiasts to explore advanced AI features without barriers.”

The ChatGPT Go plan, powered by the latest GPT‑5 model, allows users to generate content, analyze large datasets, create AI-driven workflows, and experiment with custom GPTs. With this initiative, OpenAI aims to encourage innovation and AI adoption across India, where AI is rapidly becoming a key driver of economic growth.
Industry experts noted that the free plan could have significant implications for education and entrepreneurship. “Students preparing for competitive exams, tech professionals experimenting with AI, and startups building AI products will all benefit from free access to such powerful AI tools,” said Rohan Sharma, AI consultant based in Bengaluru.
The rollout of ChatGPT Go coincides with increasing government initiatives to promote AI literacy and adoption in India. Analysts predict that easy access to advanced AI will accelerate the development of AI-driven solutions across sectors including healthcare, education, fintech, and e-commerce.
